NXDN™ Forum Plans to Open Its Technical Specification

Suwanee, GA – February 17, 2012 - The Chair of the NXDN™ Forum announced that the Forum Steering Committee will open the NXDN™ technical standard in 2Q 2012.

NXDN™ digital products have been deployed throughout the world in hundreds of thousands of customer applications. As NXDN™ becomes more and more popular as the next generation narrowband two-way land mobile radio digital protocol, the market demand has been growing for products from many more vendors. To accelerate the spread of NXDN™ and to expand on the opportunities it provides, the Steering Committee has reached an agreement on opening its technical specification to the public domain.

The NXDN™ Forum will continue to operate and accept new members after opening the technical specifications and will maintain the specification and related interoperability testing.
